About me professionally
I’m an audio visual and collaboration specialist. I have 24 years’ service as an Account Manager with Visavvi (formerly known under the brand Saville Audio Visual) . I’m focused on spending time with clients to really understand their business challenges and goals. Only by doing that early in relationships can I get a real insight and understanding into which technologies, solutions and services can help my clients organisation move forward.
The technology evolution and change I’ve seen in those 24 years has been tremendous and only by being immersed in it technically day in day out can I keep learning and developing professionally, which ultimately benefits my clients.
I believe in a consultative approach and my aim is to build up long-term relationships with clients. I have several key accounts with whom I have been working closely with for over 20 years.
I was an early adopter of the AVIXA (previously known as INFOcomm) CTS accreditation scheme and I have held the Certified Technical Specialist qualification continuously since November 2006. AVIXA are now the recognised body for AV and collaboration technical standards worldwide and run a globally acknowledged education programme with members in over 80 countries.
I have a particular interest in audio and in addition to may main role as an Account Manager, I have also been the Pro-Audio Product Manager for the group for the last 17 years.
About me personally
I have eclectic musical tastes and am obsessed with both recorded and live music. Despite work commitments I see at least one live gig a month (often many more) and also enjoy attending festivals. Needless to say that my attempts at recreating these experiences at home aren’t always appreciated by my neighbours.
I grew up in South Yorkshire, only leaving to do a degree. I have now lived in Staffordshire all my adult life. As they say, you can always tell a Yorkshireman, but you can’t tell him much.
I like to walk for fitness and I’m a fan of real ale, historic pubs and classic cars. I’ll stop now as this is making me sound really old…
