About me professionally
An audio visual and collaboration specialist with over 36 years’ experience of working in professional AV & communication environments. 18 years of which was working in the university sector in various roles from technician to senior AV/IT management. For the last 18 years I have held various roles within Visavvi from Account Manager, Head of Communication and Collaboration, Videoconferencing Product Manager, and I am currently Head Digital Workplace Consultancy.
Professionally qualified with City and Guilds, BTEC ND, CTS, CIM and various specialist industry qualifications I have worked on a substantial number of small and large enterprise-wide projects for global businesses and large public sector organisations.
I am focused on spending time with clients to really understand their business challenges and goals. Only by doing that early in relationships can I get a real insight into what technologies, solutions and services can help my clients businesses move forward.
I excel at building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, colleagues and with manufacturing partners. This has been instrumental in the success of myself, Visavvi, our manufacturing partners and crucially my clients.
I have a unique insight into the challenges and opportunities for my client organisations from my previous time spent in the end user space. This combined with my various roles and relationships built in the integrator sector I believe I can add real value to my new and existing clients.
About me personally
In my spare time I am an avid runner and love long trail runs with my dog Harvey. I have been learning to play guitar for about 20 years on and off (mostly off) and I have a recently acquired love of recurve target archery.
I have lived in various parts of the country, originally, I was born in Middlesbrough, I moved to Devon to work for the University of Plymouth, then to Preston to work for the University of Cumbria and I have now settled in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. I love being out in the countryside breathing in fresh air and spending time with my family.
Finally for my sins I am a lifelong Boro (Middlesbrough) fan, therefore I am forever optimistic and hopeful (and it could be said often disappointed).
