MoreAs a global enterprise at the forefront of cutting-edge technology with over 50,000 employees in offices dispersed across 70 countries around the world, Siemens Healthineers chose their long-standing AV partner Visavvi to enhance their key offices in Llanberis.
Visavvi completely exceeded our expectation. If most of my projects were like this, I’d be extremely happy. Once we had identified our requirements, Visavvi delivered. It’s almost zero touch for me after the order is placed to signing the project off. We have got full confidence in the team. On the odd occasions that we have required support, the service team have been very responsive, quickly resolving issues and making us operational again. What we like is that it’s always the same members of the team. We’ve got that confidence and trust built up.”IT Manager at Siemens Healthineers Llanberis
The project encompassed modernising technology in the main boardroom and auditorium as well as updating video conferencing facilities. After reviewing suggested solutions from three vendors, Siemens selected us once again for our ability to consult, understand and deliver beyond expectations. The existing facilities were in need of modernisation for such a prestigious brand. We were tasked with designing, installing and supporting future-proof collaborative solutions that would dramatically empower the communication between the geographically distributed teams.
"We went to look at other Siemens sites in the UK and Ireland, and when we saw the Visavvi solutions installed, the project lead said, ‘I want that’. The management team in Oxford were quick to recommend Visavvi following a great working partnership," said the IT Manager at Siemens Healthineers Llanberis.
For the main boardroom, we suggested a large 98-inch screen to give the ultimate display experience reflecting the prestigious status of Siemens Healthineers. Our engineering team were faced with the practical challenge of manoeuvring the huge display up to the third floor of the building with restricted internal access. The solution was to use a crane and elevate the screen to the rooftop social area and transport it to the adjacent room. The client was delighted, not only with the aesthetic impact that the screen made, but also the highly impressive quality of the displayed content. ‘There were a few challenges but ultimately, because our expert engineering teams know their role so well, these were quickly resolved and the installation was not delayed,’’ commented Colin Broadfoot, Visavvi’s account manager for the project.
The IT manager also commented, ‘’Getting the screen up to the third floor was quite a challenge, especially given the weather conditions. The crane was so big you could see it at Wembley!”
Siemens Healthineers were extremely pleased by the outcome, so much so that despite not being in the initial brief, they subsequently asked us to upgrade a lecture theatre, further meeting rooms and a video conferencing facility. The aim of the wider project was to enhance the environment with improved technology creating an impressive array of facilities to engage prospective clients. We also provided bespoke cabinets, including desks with built in AV connectivity. To ensure the project remained economical, Siemens Healthineers wanted to re-use as much existing equipment as possible and challenged us to integrate modern technology within the rooms to enrich the user experience and inspire collaboration. This was achieved via the installation of Clickshare wireless screen sharing and Extron connectivity plates alongside updates to the audio system.
"Colin definitely listened to the business needs and what I can really highlight is his consultancy first approach. Colin listened and put our business needs first, he never tried to sell us something just to increase his sales value; it was very much seen as a proactive partnership with Colin suggesting what we could retain and what needed upgrading", said Siemens IT Manager.
Our team worked collaboratively with external stakeholders such as IT vendors and internal facilities teams to deliver this project on time and on budget. Through this level of cooperation, we were able to create and define the final design to fit the specific business requirements – being sure to stay on brand and considering practical logistics such as installation, room lighting and decoration. Since starting with Clickshare in their boardroom and seeing rapid benefits, Siemens have now deployed it in key areas throughout the building. As for the bespoke furniture, Siemens have already asked for more to be fitted in their video conferencing suite.
“At Visavvi, we pride ourselves on going above and beyond for our customers, and the fact that this is now a Siemens showcase environment just demonstrates our drive to deliver beyond clients expectations”, concluded Broadfoot.
Since the original project, we have developed a strong partnership with Siemens Healthineers. Our teams have upgraded numerous rooms with the latest interactive displays to enhance team collaboration. “The team at Siemens have a great trusted relationship with Colin, and even joke that he brings the sunshine every time he comes for a meeting, nicknaming him Sunshine Colin”, commented the IT manager at Siemens.
